Do you ever feel like you’re not good enough? Like, no matter what you do, it’s never going to be enough, not for anyone. If you’ve ever felt like this, you are not alone. This feeling of not feeling good enough, smart enough, thin or pretty enough, strong enough, is well known to everyone. Fortunately, there is one person who we will always be enough for. God. Christ loves us just as we are. He knows that we are not perfect, that we are so far from perfect, it’s not even funny, but guess what? Even though Christ sees how imperfect we are, he still loves us. He looked down at us, and saw us for who we truly are, all of our insecurities and imperfections, and he saw something beautiful in each and every one of us, and he chose us.
Jesus Christ saw us, and he wanted us. How amazingly miraculous is that? Jesus knows we’re not enough, but he didn’t care, and he still doesn’t. That’s why he died on the cross for us. Romans 5:8 states, “God shows his love for us in that, for while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus died on the cross, and rose again on the third day, to save us from our sins, from ourselves, essentially, to draw us nearer to him, so that we can learn to live like him. No, we’ll never be perfect, or good enough, but if we learn God’s word, and draw near to him, we can learn to see the imperfections in others, but to love them as they are rather than judge them, the way the rest of the world does, and maybe we can help them to see themselves as Christ sees us, imperfect, but still a perfectly beautiful imperfect masterpiece in progress.
