Be an Example for the Children:

Many people who have children hope that their children will look up to them and that they’ll pass down all of their good traits to their children. This isn’t a bad thing, and it’s completely normal. But as Christians, we need to hope that our children aspire to and grow to be better and more than us. So, if we hear our children, or our students say that they want to be just like us when they grow up, we need to do our best to live our lives like Christ. No one is perfect, or able to emulate Christ exactly, no, so our children will probably hear an occasional bad word or two, or something, but overall, we need to do our best to mimic Christ and his love in all that we do. If we are children’s prime examples, we should try to give them the best. To teach them God’s love through the way we live our lives, by showing kindness, empathy, and compassion to everyone we cross paths with. After all, Sunday school shouldn’t be the only place where kids can learn about God; they should be able to learn about him all week long through the examples and the lives of the adults surrounding them.

I know I write a lot of posts about looking like Christ, but the reason why is that it is so important. The way we live our lives impacts not just us, but everyone around us. And if our children or students are the future of our world, shouldn’t we aim to give them the best example of how to live in it?
