No Perfect People

Many people often think that Christians judge others because they think they are perfect. This is so far from how it’s supposed to be. As a Christian myself, I’m more impressed with those who admit their challenges and struggles because I see how they’ve walked through each of those struggles while clinging to God. We were not made to be perfect, that’s why we have a perfect God. We are also not called to judge others, only God is the true judge. We are called only to love everyone, yes, even our enemies, and all who hurt us. I am more impressed with those who admit their past life wasn’t perfect, and even more with those who recognize their present life isn’t perfect, that even as Christians, they still sin and fall short of God’s grace. I am so much more impressed by those who are Christians, who don’t make any attempt to act like they’re better than everyone else, but rather, admit their shortcomings, and use them as a reason to hold fast to God even more. As Christians, we are called to show how God is working and has worked in our lives. We are called to boast about our weaknesses, in such a way that glorifies our Father in Heaven. No, we don’t have to boast about how perfect we are, because only Jesus is perfect. But we are called to glorify God, so we should live our lives in a way that says to others, “Hey, I was lost too, but God found me, look how he is using me now!” We are called to be the body of Christ, to lead others to him and show his love and compassion to everyone. There are no perfect people, or perfect Christians, only a perfect God who loves us and has abounding grace and mercy.
