One of God’s commands I’ve seen repeated in the Bible is the command to “Be Still”. In Psalm 46:10, it is written, “He says, “Be still and know that I am God.” In Exodus 14:14, Moses says, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still”. So many times, I struggle with letting the Lord do his will for me and in my life. I try to fight my battles on my own. I think I know the way, that I have everything all figured out. But that’s not what God commands of me. He instructs me to be still in him, and to let him fight for me. He tells me that I don’t have to do everything all on my own, but that he’s got this. He has this amazing, wonderful plan for me. He has been there beside me, fighting my battles for me all along, so that I don’t need to worry about anything. I need to remember that God is not just the God of today, he is the God of tomorrow. I just need to trust him, and trust that he will work all things out for my good. I need to just be still and watch as God turns the page to see what his story holds next for me.
